Indonesia visa

Depending on the purpose and duration of your stay in Indonesia, you will need either a Visa on Arrival (VoA or e-VoA) or a Visa. We explain the most important facts about the different categories.

Visa on Arrival for Indonesia

Getting the Visa on Arrival for Indonesia is relatively straightforward. You can either apply electronically in advance (e-VoA) or obtain it directly upon entry (VoA) at the airport, port, or border post. It allows a single entry into Indonesia for a maximum stay of 30 days and costs IDR 500,000 (approx. € 30).

Apply for a Visa on Arrival online (e-VoA)

Since November 2022, you can conveniently apply for your Visa on Arrival online before your departure and thus avoid the queues at the airport.

e-VoA: validity and costs

Your electronic e-VoA is valid for a total of 90 days. Within this validity period, you are allowed to enter Indonesia once and stay for a maximum of 30 days. The e-VoA fee of IDR 500,000 (approx. € 30) can be paid by debit or credit card.

e-VoA: required documents

You must have the following documents handy to apply for an e-VoA:

  • Personal data page of the passport (format JPG, JPEG, or PNG)
  • Passport photo (format JPG, JPEG, or PNG)
  • E-mail address
  • Credit card (Mastercard, Visa, or JCB)

You can submit your e-VOA application about 14 days before your trip to Indonesia. However, in order for the application to be processed in time, you should submit it at least 48 hours before departure.

Requirements for the eVoA

You can obtain an electronic Visa on Arrival if you:

However, since the waiting times at some arrival points can be relatively long, we recommend that you apply for the Visa on Arrival online in advance.

Your VoA will then be affixed to your passport by the border officials, and you can stay in Indonesia for up to 30 days.
